nhung.jpgDr. Nhung is HAIVNs Evaluation Project Associate Manager based in Ho Chi Minh City. She originally joinedHAIVN in 2007 as a Project Officer and started in her new positionin April, 2010. Dr. Nhung graduated from University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City in 1989 as a Doctor of Medicine specializing in General Internal Medicine including Internal, Pediatrics, and Infectious Diseases. Dr. Nhung has worked in HIV/AIDS since 1993 when it was considered an emerging disease in Vietnam.

For the past 15 yearsDr. Nhunghas been actively involved in activities of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control in the South of Vietnam as a key member, a researcher, an epidemiologist, a trainer, and a counselor in Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, a leading Institute in Bio-Medical Research and Public Health in Vietnam. She has conducted numerous studies related to HIV/AIDS including epidemiology, behavior, and community-based intervention in high risk populations in Vietnam. Since 2000, Dr. Nhung has been in charge of Clinical Research in HIV patients in Vietnam in collaboration and sponsorship with international institutes and organizations.

Dr. Nhung has won many scholarships over the years, which has allowed her to attend training courses on HIV/AIDS abroad. She obtained a Master of Science in Epidemiology in 2000, and finished a one-year fellowship of Infectious Diseases and HIV Research at the University Hospital Zurich in 2007. She also is a member of the European AIDS Clinical Society. Dr. Nhung enjoys working and spending time with her family and three sons.
