The Hanoi HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Center and the Hanoi Commercial General Corporation in collaboration with the Smartwork project held a meeting on guiding HIV/AIDS prevention in local businesses.

With nearly 6,000 workers and officials, the Hanoi Commercial General Corporation has founded a steering board for HIV/AIDS, drugs and prostitution prevention to carry out preventative work in workplace, organize AIDS-relevant workshops and improve its workers’ awareness of the deadly disease.

The corporation has established a network of promoters in its member units and then equipped them with knowledge and promotion skills and organized communication campaigns in neighbouring areas of Hanoi, such as the Hapro Industrial Zone in Le Chi-Gia Lam and Chu Dau pottery manufacture in Ha Duong province.

After the meeting, the corporation will choose three businesses as pilot models to carry out HIV/AIDS prevention in the workplace.
